Out Reach Mental Health Camp in rural locations
Project Description
Ashadeep is the only NGO working exclusively in the field of mental health in Assam. Also nearly half of the districts of the State do not have access to Psychiatric treatment and other rehabilitation interventions. In partnership with a local organisation at such a location, monthly mental health camps with free medication supply is conducted for a period of 12 to 18 months.
At the same time, the local partner is trained and empowered to continue working on the issue, after the exit of Ashadeep. Areas covered since 2006 - a) Sipajhar and Mangaldoi in Darrang district, b) Rowmari in Chirang district, c) Kokrajhar in Kokrajhar district, d) Kumarikata in Baksa district.
More than 3876 examinations have been made since October 2006.
