What to do that time?

At the time, walking on the road when someone leave a lewd comment on a girl then anyone elder with her like mother itself says that just ignore it for that would be safe. This is what i listened from my mother, that time what can be done? How can we teach that 'mawali' respect that time? ...................And what's the actual way to teach such a person respect?............Please tell the answers of these questions anyone......I want the answer for myself and for others too.

Women's reservation bill

Honourable President Smt. Pratibha Patil,

It was with much heartfelt gratitude that we received the recent introduction of 50% reservation for women in panchayats, the steps taken to increase representation of women in central government jobs and the special emphasis on female literacy. But we are very still much concerned about the progress of the women’s reservation bill which has been delayed by successive governments.

We feel that if reservation for women at the panchayat level which started off with 33% could be raised to 50%, then reservation in parliament can also be introduced. We feel discouraged when we are repeatedly denied our rightful place in politics and a fair representation in decision making bodies, especially, the Parliament.

In a country where the President, ruling Government’s Chairperson, Parliament Speaker, and several Chief Ministers are women, promising 33% Reservation for Women in Parliament should not merely remain an unfulfilled dream.

We therefore pin all our hopes on you and the present government, and we look forward with hope and expectation from you to translate your promises into action.

We are always ready to support your efforts in creating a just society where we the women of India are treated equally, fairly and with dignity.

Thanking you

The Women of India
