Voting

Voting

Why should I vote?

Isn't this the question that most of us are asking? Largely because we know that the country is already in a bad state and the Government isn't doing much to shape up. Also the reason why most of us wonder what real difference our vote is going to make. It's this very attitude that the politicians are taking advantage of and using it to feed their egos and pockets.

Politician ka dhanda

Everyone knows we have bad politicians. Gone are the days when people in power used to look at Nehru and Gandhi as idols, today, they look the size of each other's bank balances and black money. Given all of this, its understandable to have lost faith in them, but if we don't do anything to get them out of power, who will?

What difference will my vote make?

When election time comes around, this is the one biggest doubt on everyone's mind. Since the assumption is that my vote can never make this country better, people decide not to vote. The real fact is that the remaining voting population is also thinking the same way and assumes they can't do anything about the present political system.

Aap ka vote, aap ka politician

Tired of the politicians hafta, dhanda and peti? When you decide to vote and elect a candidate, you decide to elect the politician of your choice. If you're voting you're choosing who rules your country and taking part in deciding what your future holds for you irrespective of who's paying how much ransom for the kursi.

With vote, comes responsibility

How did you feel just after you voted? Didn't you feel a sense of responsibility, like an Indian citizen exercising your right? That's exactly how it should be! When you vote, you automatically develop a sense of ownership towards the country and everything that's going on with it. This then means that you'll be sure to read the newspaper, watch the news and stay abreast of what is happening around you. You're no long restricting yourself to complaining about the Government but have instead decided to do something about it.

The Government Speaks

Did you know that the Government is fully answerable to its citizens for all the decisions that it takes? And in a democracy like ours it becomes one of our fundamental rights to question the people in power. So why not make full use of the provisions instead of let it go scot-free?

Teaching the importance of voting in schools

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that people don't know the importance of voting today. So why not start teaching it from a really early stage? Like school for example. The sooner we do it, the better the awareness and the more the number of people casting an informed vote.

Change in Perspective

Want to change the way people look at voting? Start by emphasizing it as one of the most important rights that's been provided to us by the Constitution. Did you know that in some places, kings still rule countries and have least freedom? The minute you make people realize the true weight-age of this privilege they will begin to exercise it wisely.

Target the Youth

Do you really want to give power to the babus who are running after the kursi? No right? The real power for any developing country lies with the youth. So ideally, we need to motivate the youth to sit up, take notice and make an informed vote. The more awakened the youth, the brighter the future of the country.

Teaching it in Schools

: Harp on the importance of voting in schools. The sooner they learn about it, the sooner they vote promising the country a stronger foundation

Making Voting a Cause

Get a group of your friends together and make voting a cause. Reach out to every youngster in the neighborhood and convince him to vote!

Change the Mindset

Convince people that voting is not merely a constitutional right, it's one of the privileges in a democracy. So be thankful and vote.

Social Media to target the Youth

One way to find the youth and get them to vote? Reaching out in places where they spend most of their time; cafes, pubs & the internet!

Take it Personally

Awareness starts at home. So make sure all of your friends are registered, updated about the political scene & casting an informed vote.

Don't want to vote

Hello Everybody............!!!!!!!

My name is dipankar and I live in faridabad. On 20th May, we had a voting for Municipal Elections. I have a voter id card but my name was not included in their list of voters. So, they didn't allow me to vote inspite having a voter id card.

My mood went off completely & I returned back home thinking that I will not vote in future if I have to always search my name in the list inspite of having a voter id card.
